About Dr. Holly Ludgate
Senior Director, Program Development - New Media Consortium
Dr. Ludgate’s doctoral degree was awarded from Pepperdine University in Educational Technology, focusing on gaming immersion in educational settings and fostering 21st century skills. In 2007, Holly started with Full Sail University, developing and launching the Education Media Design and Technology Masters degree online. Her work with Action Research and Challenge Based Learning earned her a seat on the Challenge Based Learning Advisory Board hosted by Apple.
Prior to Full Sail University, Holly worked with integrating technology in k-12 classrooms, along with teaching campus and online for universities in several subject areas. Dr. Ludgate also consulted for the Institute of Urban Game Design in Washington D.C., housed at McKinley Technology High School. In working with the Institute, she helped design and implement curriculum for students interested in developing and modding games, along with game theory. Her passion for emergent technologies and implementation into different settings, such as podcasting, web 2.0 applications, digital native/digital immigrant tensions in the classroom, as well as 21st century skills of learners and vodcasting is steadfast.
